Community Outreach and Education Program

Workshops and In-Services:

We will be involved in several important events in the next few months that many of you might be interested in attending. For more details please contact us at (313) 961-3348.

In our ever-increasing effort to offer our programs to as many teachers and students as possible, the Community Outreach and Education Core staff is available to run workshops and in-services. Our goal is that through this "train the trainer" approach, we can effectively reach a larger number of teachers and ultimately, more students will be exposed to the basic concepts of environmental health science.

Upcoming Workshops and Classes:

July 2008

Biotechnology for Beginners Booklet

The COEC offices have a new resource for teachers. We currently have available a booklet of 28 biotechnology activities that do not require laboratory equipment. Included with each activity is background information, complete instructions, student worksheets and answer keys. To order your copy on CD, send a check to our office for $10 made payable to "Wayne State University", or call Rae Glover at 313-961-3348 for more information.

For more information regarding scheduling a workshop or in-service, please call the COEC offices at (313) 961-3348. If you are interested in or are taking one of our Teacher Workshops, we encourage you to join our list server to exchange information with COEP staff and other workshop participants.
