Membership Admissions Criteria

Below are the criteria for Full & Associate Center Membership. Compliance with these requirements will be reviewed by the program leadership committee on a regular basis. With regard to facility core access, Full Center Members in good standing will have priority over Associate Center Members.

 

I. Full Membership

Admission Criteria:

  1. The applicant's research interests should clearly be in accord with the mission/goals of the Center and of the applicant's Research Program (Core) assignment.

  2. Applications for Center membership shall include: (1) A completed Center Membership application form (including the 250 word paragraph describing your envisioned interaction with existing Center programs), (2) A signed and dated curriculum vita, (3) Other Support in NIH format.

  3. Membership in the EHS Molecular and Cellular Toxicology Center with Human Applications is subject to regular and continual review by the Program Leadership Committee of the Center.

Membership Maintenance Criteria: In order to retain Center Membership at annual review, the Center member must demonstrate compliance with 2 of the following 3 major membership criteria:

  1. Maintain 50% attendance at research core meetings.

  2. Demonstrate objective evidence for the following:

    1. Inter-core collaborative research (grants, abstracts, manuscripts, shared graduate student mentoring) -AND/OR-

    2.  Intra-core collaborative research (grants, abstracts, manuscripts, shared graduate student mentoring)

  3. Use the Center Facility Cores, be in compliance with Facility Core "good citizenship" standards as established by individual Facility Core Directors, and cite the Center Grant ES06639 from the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences in all publications that result from Center interaction and Facility Core usage.

In addition to be above-listed major membership criteria, it is expected that the Full Center Member in good standing shall:

  1. File progress report updates as requested by the Research Core Director.

  2. Participate in the annual Center Symposium

II. Associate Membership:

Criteria:

  1. Associate Center Member - COEP: Demonstrate participation in COEP activities, file routine progress reports with COEP Director, cite the Center Grant in all publications or on materials where COEP resources were either a determining or facilitating factor.

  2. Associate Center Member-General Category: Demonstrate an interest in human health issues relevant to molecular and cellular toxicology, and indicate a willingness to participate in Center meetings and symposia.
